Job description

Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Regional Application Engineer to support the commercial and industrial markets as part of the Regional Sales team. This is a remote role with approximately 50% travel and has a company car. This role can based in one of these locations within the Central Region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

What you'll do: The GEIS Application Engineer is a consultative, technical sales professional responsible for supporting electrical consultants, designers, end users and specifiers that serve the commercial, institutional, industrial, and government municipality markets within the Region. The GEIS Application Engineer must possess both strong technical and commercial skills and be experienced with electrical in electrical power distribution and control systems typically applied in these markets. The primary function of the Regional Application Engineer is to achieve acceptability of Eaton's Crouse-Hinds and B-Line series electrical infrastructure products in the marketplace, while providing technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, outside rep agencies, and to both internal and external customers.

This position is responsible for collaborating with electrical consultants and specifying engineers to assist in the application, layout and specification of electrical harsh and hazardous environment equipment, electrical equipment structural solutions, and industrial lighting.. Responsibilities Include: Technical Support: Lead technical pre-sale application and technical support for Crouse-Hinds and B-Line series products with related consulting firms in assigned sales geographies to better position Eaton in the market. Provide technical application support on target projects including drawing reviews, contributions to sales pursuit strategies, and through interface with key stakeholders involved in the design and specification of the electrical infrastructure systems

Assist customers with design-build opportunities, lighting audits, and other consultative activities. Technical Training: Provide strategic technical leadership and mentoring in support of the sales teams in the assigned sales geographies. Conduct product seminars and training on Crouse-Hinds and B-Line series products and solutions to consultants, specifiers, end users, channel partners, and sales engineers.

Product Strategy: Work with product lines on the development of tools and literature focused on power system designers and provide voice-of-customer input to drive product development. An ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in electrical infrastructure solutions, with demonstrated proficiency across LED lighting, control and apparatus, cable tray, and harsh and hazardous location applications within the Crouse-Hinds and B-Line portfolios.

You leverage this knowledge to develop precise technical specifications during project bidding, while applying creative problem-solving skills to address complex application challenges. You demonstrate leadership by guiding teams, building consensus, and mentoring others to achieve shared success. You communicate effectively across all levels, from technical teams to executive stakeholders, building long-term relationships and influencing outcomes through clear communication and strong presentation and training capabilities.

With a strategic understanding of the U.S. power distribution market, you proactively drive growth through initiative and excellent customer-facing skills, effectively articulating Eaton's value propositions. Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Minimum five (5) years of electrical sales and/or electrical engineering experience Must possess a valid driver's license Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $143,250 to 210,100.

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
