WHY IGS ENERGY

At IGS Energy, interns are treated like part of the team. You will have the chance to learn from experienced professionals, contribute to meaningful work, and build relationships that help you grow personally and professionally. If you are excited to apply your finance skills in a real-world setting and be part of a supportive, high-energy intern experience, we would love to meet you.

THE IGS INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

  • Embedded into a team, contributing from day one

  • Meaningful work that supports real business outcomes

  • A collaborative intern cohort experience

  • Events designed to engage and connect

  • Programming focused on developing business acumen and executive presence

  • Exposure to leaders and cross-functional teams

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Solar Finance Intern, you will support the financial engine behind our growing solar business while building practical finance, reporting, and analytical skills. You will work alongside the Solar Finance team on reporting, modeling, presentations, and special projects that help the team make informed business decisions.

This is a hands-on internship for students who enjoy solving problems, working with data, asking thoughtful questions, and seeing how finance connects to real business outcomes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Gain cross-functional exposure: Learn how reporting, financial modeling, and capital markets support the solar business.

  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting: Help prepare reporting deliverables for internal stakeholders and external debt and equity partners.

  • Build financial analysis skills: Analyze data, prepare reports, and support special projects as business needs arise.

  • Create and refine finance tools: Update financial models, reporting templates, and PowerPoint presentations used by the team.

  • Own your work: Review your work for accuracy, apply corrections, and proactively communicate progress and questions.

  • Collaborate with the team: Partner with team members across Finance and the broader business to better understand solar operations and business drivers.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting, analysis, and modeling

  • A stronger understanding of how finance supports a growing solar business

  • Opportunities to present, communicate updates, and build confidence in a professional setting

  • Mentorship, leader exposure, and connections across the intern cohort

  • Experience working on projects that have visibility beyond the classroom

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Advanced Excel skills or a strong interest in building them, including financial modeling, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, nested IF statements, and Boolean logic

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work

  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities

  • A collaborative mindset and comfort asking questions, sharing updates, and learning from feedback

At IGS Energy, you will do more than intern, you will make an impact. You will take ownership of real projects, collaborate with teams across the business, and see your work come to life. Plus, you will connect with peers and leaders through our speaker series, intern events, and professional development experiences designed to help you grow.
