Job description

Senior Software Engineer – Retail Integrations (.NET/Azure/Terraform)

Seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 9+ years of experience in retail technology environments to design, build, and support transaction processing and integration platforms connecting store systems, POS, payment providers, and enterprise applications. Strong expertise in Azure, .NET/C#, Terraform, SQL Server, Azure DevOps, API integrations, and Agile delivery is required. Experience supporting high-volume retail transaction data pipelines, legacy modernization, and enterprise-scale integrations is essential.

This is a 5-day fully onsite role in Des Moines (Ankeny), IA.
Compensation: $60/hour on W2
Minimum of 9 years experience

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test integrations between internal systems and 3rd party Point-of-Sale and Payments platforms.

• Develop and support highly complex existing legacy and batch solutions and contribute to development of new technical complex solutions by analyzing and identifying areas of modification and improvement. Develop new routine solutions to meet customer requirements.

• Contribute to and maintain roadmap to facilitate application software development and ensure the development work is prioritized in line with business requirements.

• Monitor, identify, assess, and correct highly complex software problems to maintain fully functioning applications software.

• Proactively learn highly complex engineering and business industry best practices while correctly applying learning to their daily work.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain highly complex automated unit tests to ensure quality of solution being built.

• Research and suggest improvements to increase quality of the technical solution and supporting infrastructure to better meet users'' needs.

• Provide support to business units and processes.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent years of related work experience.

• At least five (5) years of experience building and maintaining technical solutions in a business environment.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Thorough understanding of .Net/C#, web development, and full-stack engineering using MS SQL Server.

• Ability to collaborate and build relationships based on transparency and mutual respect.

• Takes initiative and can work independently, with minimal supervision, or as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to remain organized and self-motivated.

• Prioritizes and organizes assignments to make efficient use of time with significant attention to detail.

• Capable of identifying problems, analyzing, and evaluating information to determine solutions for problem solving.

• Knowledge and experience working in Azure DevOps and Azure, including IaC (Terraform).

Practical experience with Agile delivery
