Job Summary:
The Director - Security Operations Support provides executive-level leadership and technical oversight for all support activities enabling secure operations under an access control and security staffing contract within the Intelligence Community. This role drives excellence in access control support functions, physical security integration, policy adherence, and operational reporting in a multi-site, SCIF-heavy environment. The Director will serve as a strategic partner to government security stakeholders, manage cross-functional support teams, and ensure all support services meet or exceed contract, security, and mission performance standards. Responsibilities:
Security Operations Oversight
* Oversee day-to-day security support operations across secure facilities, including badge systems support, post administration, security incident documentation, and records management.
* Coordinate with site security leads to ensure smooth access control workflows, compliance with post orders, and effective support to on-duty officers.
* Manage security logistics support functions such as prohibited item detection, visitor escort tracking, secure materials handling, and alarm response readiness. Program & Mission Support
* Serve as an executive liaison to the government's security directorate, physical security teams, and operations staff regarding all support-related matters.
* Ensure secure operational support aligns with ICD 705, NISPOM, TEMPEST, and other IC-specific security policies.
* Support classified site activation/deactivation, access control technology updates, and post or SOP transitions during government reconfigurations. Compliance & Readiness
* Maintain oversight of training and compliance for security support staff, including SCA-covered administrative and logistics roles.
* Prepare and maintain inspection-ready documentation (logs, SOPs, event records) for customer audits, site inspections, and QA reviews.
* Investigate support deficiencies, develop corrective action plans (CAPs), and track implementation. Personnel Management
* Lead and manage security support teams, including post administrators, shift leads, security support specialists, and clerical staff.
* Support recruiting, onboarding, and clearance processing for all support personnel.
* Ensure SCA compliance with wage determinations, fringe benefits, and support scheduling in 24/7 environments. Strategic Planning & Performance Management
* Oversee metrics collection and performance tracking of all security support functions (e.g., access badge turnaround times, incident reporting cycle times, administrative backlog resolution).
* Identify and implement process improvements, staffing adjustments, and workflow enhancements to support evolving customer needs. Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Intelligence Studies, Government, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
* 10+ years of experience in security operations within the Intelligence Community or DoD environment.
* 5+ years of leadership experience managing multi-site support teams in secure facilities.
* Demonstrated expertise with ICD 705, SCIF procedures, access control systems, and security operations support functions.
* Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required at time of application. Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience managing SCA-covered personnel and supporting security contracts exceeding 100+ FTEs.
* Familiarity with IC clearance processes and onboarding procedures.
* Understanding of electronic security systems (badging, VMS, PACS) and classified material handling protocols.
* Certifications such as CPP, PSP, or government site-specific security training. Work Travel & Physical Requirements:
* Primarily on-site with the customer, some travel between secure locations (up to 20%).
