Job description

RN Hospice Executive Director - Administrator

Introduction:  

An exciting leadership opportunity is available with our client, a top provider in the hospice care sector, serving the Roanoke and Lynchburg regions of Virginia. Renowned for their exceptionally high patient satisfaction ratings, our client is committed to compassionate, quality end-of-life care, and is seeking an experienced RN Hospice Executive Director to lead their Roanoke branch to its next phase of growth and patient access. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the Roanoke hospice branch, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations  
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, including RNs, CNAs, chaplains, social workers, and support staff  
  • Participate in clinical care as necessary to support the team and maintain high standards of care  
  • Drive growth initiatives in collaboration with the sales and marketing teams  
  • Foster a culture of open communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement  
  • Ensure exceptional patient care, documentation accuracy, and staff scheduling  
  • Partner with local healthcare providers to increase referrals and expand community partnerships  
  • Work closely with central support teams in Richmond—including quality, compliance, intake, and billing—to optimize branch operations  
  • Uphold the organization’s values and commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Requirements:  

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia  
  • Minimum of 5 years of hospice experience, including supervisory/leadership roles  
  • Demonstrated success in hospice program management and team leadership  
  • Strong clinical knowledge in hospice/palliative care, with the ability to provide hands-on support as needed  
  • Experience with Homecare Homebase (HCHB) or similar EMR systems preferred  
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills  
  • Proven ability to drive program growth and lead quality initiatives  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
