Job Summary:
Albert Invent is dedicated to digitalizing the world of chemistry through data and machine learning. They are seeking a Scientific Solutions Architect to drive successful outcomes for key customers by bridging scientific R&D workflows with enterprise digital strategies, ensuring measurable value throughout the customer journey.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Serve as the first Albert point of contact in the scientific deployment process, navigating ambiguous customer environments to define scope, surface priorities, and establish a clear path forward before formal delivery begins.
โ€ข Design and deliver complex, enterprise-grade scientific solutions that translate customer R&D workflows into Albert OS, ensuring measurable value at each stage of the customer journey.
โ€ข Act as a trusted scientific advisor to customer executives and technical stakeholders, shaping digital transformation strategy and aligning Albert's capabilities to long-term business goals.
โ€ข Guide customers in mapping legacy tools and workflows into unified data workflows within Albert, including integrations with existing systems.
โ€ข Identify and develop high-impact use cases early in the deployment cycle, translating complex scientific requirements into clear, actionable delivery plans.
โ€ข Collaborate with sales and technical teams to craft compelling business cases, quantifying outcomes tied to cost savings, process efficiency, innovation speed, and risk reduction.
โ€ข Translate customer R&D needs and pain points into actionable technical solutions aligned to business goals, relaying and prioritizing requirements to internal teams to drive timely delivery.
โ€ข Drive platform adoption by demonstrating measurable success in both pre-sales and post-implementation contexts.
โ€ข Partner with R&D and non-R&D customer teams to implement and scale successful pilots and deployments, connecting value to business goals across project types including innovation, product development, product maintenance, and operational excellence.
โ€ข Support enterprise sales by delivering technical presentations, leading exploratory discussions, mapping laboratory workflows to Albert, and constructing architectural and data flow diagrams.
โ€ข Develop presentation materials that emphasize the value of Albert's solutions to customer business needs, and manage key partnership discussions to help shape effective, scalable engagements.
โ€ข Partner with Sales Enablement to provide input on customer engagement strategies that support successful, long-term solution implementation and value alignment.
โ€ข Mentor and develop junior scientific staff, raising the team's capability in both scientific domain knowledge and customer-facing delivery.
โ€ข Represent Albert in strategic customer conversations and technical workshops, acting as the voice of the customer within Albert to help shape product offerings and service delivery.
โ€ข Support change management efforts within customer organizations, guiding stakeholders through the adoption of new digital workflows and ways of working.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
โ€ข 5+ years of industry experience, preferably in chemical or materials R&D or digital transformation.
โ€ข Experience in front-end innovation, product development, or R&D management, with familiarity moving from concept to market-ready product.
โ€ข Deep understanding of how scientists conduct work across a range of laboratory settings, including familiarity with the systems and tools they rely on daily โ€” such as electronic lab notebooks (ELN), laboratory information management systems (LIMS), inventory management platforms, analytical and process development workflows, and regulatory data systems.
โ€ข Strong background in scientific coding with Python; AWS experience is a plus.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to engage at the executive level and navigate complex enterprise environments.
โ€ข Proven track record of operating independently in ambiguous, early-stage customer engagements where scope and priorities must be defined from the ground up.
โ€ข Experience leading change management within enterprise customer organizations.
โ€ข Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage with technical and non-technical audiences alike.
โ€ข Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams and time zones.
โ€ข Willingness and ability to travel 30โ€“50% of the time, primarily domestically within the US, to support customer engagements and on-site deployments.
