Job description

What We Offer:

Join the Hilton Head ED Team as an ED RN!  

Relocation assistance may be available.

Location: Float between Hilton Head Hospital - 25 Hospital Center Blvd, Hilton Head, South Carolina AND Bluffton FSED - 8 Parkside Ave, Bluffton, SC 

Shift: Days/Mids rotation OR Nights - weekend and holiday rotation required 

Status: Full Time 

Our Emergency Department is a 25-bed unit that specializes in providing immediate medical care for patients with severe or urgent illnesses or injuries. It is equipped to handle a wide range of services, including initial assessment, treatment, stabilization, emergencies, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions and potentially admission to the hospital. 

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform rapid, systematic patient triage to quickly determine patient acuity and prioritize life-threatening conditions. 

  • Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments, including physical examination, vital sign monitoring, and detailed history collection, for patients across the lifespan (pediatric to geriatric). 

  • Promptly recognize and report critical changes in patient status to the appropriate physician or advanced practice provider. 

  • ollaborate effectively as a core member of the interdisciplinary team, coordinating with physicians, paramedics, specialists, and other hospital units (e.g., ICU, OR, Inpatient). 

  • Provide clear, concise, and accurate handoff communication during patient transfers, shift changes, and between care teams. 

  • Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during high-stress, crisis, and traumatic situations. 

  • Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring patient rights are respected and care decisions reflect the patient's best interests and wishes.
