OVERVIEW
A well-established, owner-operated multifamily organization is seeking a Regional Director to lead asset performance across a national conventional market-rate portfolio. This role is heavily focused on financial performance, operational execution, and strong field leadership.This leader will oversee 5,000-6,000 of units across large-scale communities and work closely with executive leadership to drive consistency, accountability, and long-term stewardship. This is a high-impact role within a rapidly growing, multi-generational organization that owns and operates its portfolio for the long term.We are currently seeking candidates in Virginia to work at the company HQ in Richmond as well as candidates in North Carolina to work at the company’s regional office in Durham.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead asset performance across a large multi-state portfolio of conventional market-rate communities
  • Provide strong financial oversight, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and NOI performance
  • Set strategic direction and clearly articulate expectations to regional and site-level teams
  • Serve as a hands-on leader who is comfortable working “below” the regional level when needed
  • Drive operational consistency across leasing, maintenance, and property operations (no affordable housing)
  • Coach, mentor, and hold teams accountable while building buy-in and engagement
  • Prioritize and stabilize underperforming assets, particularly within the Virginia portfolio
  • Partner closely with executive leadership on strategy, execution, and decision-making
  • Travel regularly to properties (up to ~50%)
  • Support growth while maintaining focus on current asset performance
  • Represent ownership values through long-term stewardship and disciplined operations
