The Head of Contract Management is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of commercial, operational, and strategic contracts across the organization. This position leads and develops a team of Contract Managers, ensures contractual compliance, mitigates risk, and drives continuous improvement in contract and program management processes. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Head of Contract Management acts as a strategic partner to executive leadership, business units, and external stakeholders to support the company’s growth, operational excellence, and risk‑management objectives.

Job requirements
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as a contract manager, legal counsel in an international group, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership capacity (legal background preferred).
  • Proven track record of responsibility for negotiating and writing legal conditions for commercial contracts in a technical domain and international environment, that have resulted in a smooth and successful completion of activities between the stakeholders.
  • A good understanding of export control topics in EU and US regulations including processes and documentation.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business needs into contract frameworks.
  • Excellent relational skills and ability to work in a team with different professional and cultural backgrounds.
  • Organized, methodical, precise, meticulous and autonomous person.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and process optimization.
  • Master’s degree in law or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English, any other language is a plus.
Job responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Contract Managers, ensuring high performance, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Define team structure, roles, and workload distribution to support business needs.
  • Establish best practices, training programs, and performance metrics for the Contract Management function in collaboration with the General Counsel.
  • Foster a collaborative, solution-oriented culture within the team and across departments.
  • Develop and implement the company’s contract management strategy, aligned with legal, commercial, and operational priorities.
  • Establish governance frameworks, approval workflows, and standardized templates to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, awareness and strengthen contract lifecycle management.
  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of contract management tools and systems (CLM platforms, dashboards, reporting tools).
  • Identify and mitigate contractual, regulatory, and operational risks.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and applicable laws.
  • Lead escalation processes for contract‑related issues and disputes.
  • Maintain oversight of audit readiness and documentation standards.
  • Provide guidance on contract interpretation, obligations, and dispute resolution.
  • Monitor contract performance, renewals, obligations, and key milestones.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Program Management to ensure alignment of contractual obligations and business objectives.
  • Support Program Management teams by integrating contract requirements into project planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Develop and execute a roadmap for improving contract and program management maturity across the organization.
  • Introduce KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to track performance and drive accountability.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance cross‑departmental coordination.
  • Champion digital transformation and automation within the contract management function and use of IA tool.
