About Culver Youth Club

The Culver Youth Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through enriching after-school programs, summer camp, mentorship, and community engagement. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment where young people can develop life skills, build confidence, and achieve their potential. We serve over a hundred youth annually in the Culver community through innovative programs and partnerships.


Position Overview

The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of the Culver Youth Club: providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to advance the organization’s mission. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will drive fundraising efforts, manage programs and staff, and foster community partnerships to ensure the organization’s growth and sustainability. The ideal candidate is a passionate, collaborative leader with a commitment to youth development and nonprofit excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan in collaboration with the Board to guide the organization’s growth and impact.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson, representing the Culver Youth Club to stakeholders, media, and the community.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and accountability aligned with the organization’s values.

Fundraising & Financial Management

  • Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and special events, to diversify and grow revenue streams.
  • Oversee the development and management of the annual budget, ensuring financial stability and transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements for nonprofit organizations.


Program & Operations Management

  • Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality youth after school and summer programs that meet community needs.
  • Supervise and support a team of staff and volunteers, fostering professional development and performance excellence.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, including facilities, safety protocols, and administrative functions.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, schools, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Advocate for youth issues and promote the Culver Youth Club’s mission within the broader community.
  • Collaborate with the Board to engage volunteers and community members in support of organizational goals.

Board Relations

  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop policies, set goals, and ensure effective governance.
  • Provide regular updates on organizational performance, finances, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support Board recruitment, orientation, and engagement efforts.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, education, social work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit, youth development, or community-based organization.
  • Proven success in fundraising, including grant writing, donor relations, and event planning.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Passion for youth development and a commitment to the Culver Youth Club’s mission.




Preferred

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors and managing volunteer-driven organizations.
  • Knowledge of the Culver community and its youth-related needs.
  • Familiarity with program evaluation and impact measurement in nonprofit settings.
