Job description

The Executive Protection Agent is responsible for ensuring the personal security and safety of the Events DC President/CEO and senior executives. This role involves risk assessment, special events planning, and on-the-ground protection operations to safeguard the principal from threats including but not limited to physical harm and harassment. The successful candidate will possess exceptional situational awareness, threat assessment skills, and the physical and mental agility required to adapt in a dynamic and high-stress environment. The Executive Protection Agent reports to the Lead Executive Protection Agent, Manager with a dotted line to the Director, Security Operations for the Public Safety Division.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in executive protection, law enforcement, military, corporate or equivalent field with a strong focus on protective services.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel extensively, often with limited notice.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules - which includes nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.
  • Education: Associates of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field is preferred. Or combined combination of years of experience with a high-school diploma or equivalent diploma is required.
  • Training: Certification in executive protection or completion of a recognized training program. First Aid/AED Training and Recertification Course.
  • Provide personal security protection for the Events DC President/CEO and Senior Executives at the direction and in close coordination with the Lead Executive Protection Agent. This protection will include the coordinating of security arrangements for domestic travel through advance surveys and on-the-ground protection.
  • Provide protective coverage for special events, meetings and public functions, official functions, and other events identified by the Director of Security Operations or designee.
  • Operates effectively as a cohesive Executive Protective Team - designed and expected to assess all situations that might pose any potential threat to Events DC's Executive Leadership team. The Executive Protection team will communicate and collaborate to ensure that any potential gaps in protection are identified and closed.
  • Travel on commercial, private airplanes, boats, helicopters, trains, buses, and automobiles, as needed.
  • Complete an Executive Protection Training and Recertification Course. First Aid/AED Training and Recertification Course.
