What is executive protection?

Executive protection is a specialized security service focused on safeguarding high-profile individuals, such as corporate executives, celebrities, or political figures, from potential threats like physical harm, kidnapping, or harassment. This service often includes risk assessments, travel security, secure transportation, and advance planning to ensure a client's safety at all times. Executive protection professionals are trained in security protocols, defensive driving, emergency response, and sometimes medical aid, allowing them to respond effectively to a variety of situations. The goal is to allow clients to carry out their daily activities with minimal disruption while maintaining the highest level of safety.

What is executive protection?

Executive protection involves providing security for corporate executives, VIPs, celebrities, and other people who need safeguarding against public threats. Increasingly, these threats are both physical and digital, and many executives require increased protection from hackers who try to steal personal information for blackmail or to expose executives and celebrities in the media. Your duties as an executive protection specialist can include performing risk assessment, testing security systems, determining which executive or persons of interest are at higher risk, and developing methods to keep them safe.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an executive protection professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive Protection professional, you need expertise in risk assessment, security protocols, defensive tactics, and often a background in law enforcement or military service. Familiarity with surveillance technology, secure communications systems, and certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) are commonly required. Discretion, situational awareness, quick decision-making, and strong interpersonal skills are essential soft skills for building trust and responding effectively to threats. These skills and qualities are critical for ensuring the safety, privacy, and confidence of high-profile clients in unpredictable environments.

What are some common challenges faced by executive protection professionals, and how can they be addressed?

Executive Protection professionals often encounter challenges such as adapting to rapidly changing schedules, managing high-stress environments, and maintaining vigilance during extended periods. They must remain discreet while ensuring the safety of their principal, which requires excellent communication and quick decision-making. Building strong coordination with local law enforcement and other security team members is essential to address these challenges effectively and ensure seamless operations.

Job description

Orthopedic Physical Therapist
82K to 100K | Full-time or part-time | Up to $12,500 in bonuses | Great Place to Work Certified 2025 and 2026
Fewer than 11 patients a day. One at a time, for the whole session, every session. That is a scheduling rule at Aquacare and Fitness Forum Physical Therapy, not an aspiration, and it is the reason most of our clinicians come here and stay here.
We are a physical-therapist-owned private practice, independent for 27+ years, with 12 clinics across Maryland and Delaware. We are hiring exceptional new team members. Will you launch your career with us?
The offer, in numbers
  • 82K to 100K base salary, depending on experience
  • Up to $12,500 in bonuses: $5,000 at signing, $3,750 at year two, $3,750 at year three
  • Fewer than 11 patients per day, one-on-one, no productivity quota
  • Four-day or five-day weeks, and you help set your hours
  • $1,000 per year for continuing education (more for specialties)
  • License renewal reimbursement
  • Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification, paid in full
  • 120 hours of PTO to start, growing with tenure, plus 6 paid holidays
  • 401(k) with 4% match to begin at 3 months
  • Medical, dental, vision, FSA, disability, and supplemental insurance
  • Student loan assistance of $5,000, per year, paid pre-tax.

Your day
You will treat, not just evaluate. Roughly 30 minutes of scheduled non-treatment time is built into each day, and documentation runs through Prompt EMR with AI-assisted notes. 93% of our clinicians finish their notes during working hours.
You will work alongside 6-8 therapists and additional PTAs, techs. Our therapy pools are either on-site or nearby within the community. Caseload is general outpatient orthopedics with a genuine mix of ages and diagnoses. Others in this office specialize in pelvic floor, women's health, aquatics, sports, and more.
Where you can specialize
We want you to get good at something specific, and we pay for it. Orthopedics, manual therapy, pain science, dry needling, pelvic floor, lymphedema, aquatic therapy, balance and vestibular, neurologic rehabilitation, dance rehabilitation, or sports rehabilitation through Aquacare Athletics, are all options for you.
Several of these are hard to find anywhere else. If you want to build a career in orthopedics, pelvic floor, or aquatic therapy in this region, there is essentially one place to do it - Aquacare and Fitness Forum.
Your first five years
  • Day one. New graduates start with a reduced caseload that builds over your first three months. Weekly one-on-ones with your clinic director from week one.
  • Getting started. A named mentor, scheduled weekly meetings, and case review with clinical leadership for your first year.
  • Year one. Your first certification, paid, in whichever specialty you and your mentor pick.
  • Years two and three. Sit for the OCS on us, enter our in-house 12-month orthopedic residency, or start taking students as a certified clinical instructor. The retention bonuses land here.
  • Year five. Clinic director, program lead, or build a specialty program from scratch. We promote from within, and several of our directors started here as new grads.

What we are not
You will treat post-surgical knees, lymphedema, vestibular cases, pelvic floor, and plenty of people in their seventies who want to get back to their garden.
This isn't a typical gym-style PT environment where patients are handed exercises and therapists move on to the next person. At Aquacare/Fitness Forum, you'll spend meaningful one-on-one time with your patients, providing hands-on care and individualized treatment. If you want the clinical variety, you will find it here!
Why people stay
We are Great Place to Work Certified in both 2025 and 2026. Those percentages come from anonymous surveys of our own team:
  • 96% say new people are made to feel welcome
  • 95% say people here care about each other
  • 93% say they can be themselves at work
  • 91% say they can take time off when they need it
  • 87% call it a great place to work, against 57% at a typical U.S. company
