Job description

Position Summary

Founded more than seventy-five years ago, we are a premier supplier of sheet metal products, mechanical systems, and services. A critical position in this organization the project engineer is part of the Operations group. The role is responsible for providing the Account Executive/Project Manager/Superintendent with assistance to attain or exceed the project operating income and customer satisfaction goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process documents and reports such as RFI logs, purchase orders, subcontracts, change proposals/change orders, submittals, and monthly project review documents.
  • Assist with maintenance of project books, maintaining change proposals/change order logs and submittal packages and files.
  • Coordinate and expedite the review of layout drawings with field and CAD.
  • Maintain current contract drawings on site.
  • Track equipment deliveries and all other relevant documents to field and Project Manager.
  • Take meeting minutes and distribute to appropriate parties.
  • Assist with project close-out activities, completing punch list and start up activities.
  • Actively participate in creating and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strive to ensure customer loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Assist team with other projects and deliverables as needed.
  • Work with project schedules and manpower as directed by general superintendent.


Qualifications


  • Strong Customer Service focus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer, or in a similar position in the construction industry.
  • Experience in high-tech and industrial construction is a plus.
  • Experience in the areas of HVAC is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and local safety standards and laws for the construction industry.

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Self-starter who establishes and achieves goals and requires minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough in completing tasks and focused on quality output with an diligence.
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
  • Uncompromising integrity and ethical business practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced user of the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
