Job description

Key member of a small finance function responsible for processing sales and purchase ledger transactions, accounts reconciliations and analysis, inventory accounting, month end close, accounts analysis and assisting the CFO/CEO in various accounting processes.

Currently operating in SAGE 500 but probably moving to a new platform.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Purchase Order process and verify authorisation
  • Electronic invoice storage & processing
  • Goods receipt notes matching
  • Credit card management and processing
  • Creditor List & Payment process (weekly)
  • Bank payments
  • Produce and send Sales Invoices
  • Post Bank receipts
  • Debtors list & Credit control
  • Review & analyse Profit and Loss (Income Statement)
  • Review & analyse Balance Sheet
  • Month end/quarterly procedures related to Management Accounting
Month End/Other
  • Open/close ledger on SAGE
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Intercompany balances
  • Timesheet management for payroll/project accounting
  • Work in Process/Revenue recognition
  • Journals for :
    • Payroll
    • Depreciation
    • Accruals
    • Prepayments
    • Commission

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/similar.
  • 3+ years experience.
  • SAGE 500 experience preferred but not essential.
  • Mature approach and self starter.
