Job description

As an Operations Ordering and Plating Supervisor, you will assist in placing orders when needed for company car drivers, engineering, plants, and manufacturing validation build orders. For any drivers that order a drive and buy a vehicle, you will need to tag the drivers to the vehicles in the General Motors system. As the Supervisor, you will also track any vehicles requested for updates, while completing your day-to-day work you will use various systems to perform all tasks. 

Salary Overview:
The pay rate for this role starts at $51,000 per year.

Hours:

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm.

Operations Ordering and Plating Supervisor Responsibilities Include: 

  • Assist with the General Motors executives’ program, where 8th and 9th-level General Motors employees/drivers will evaluate product quality and performance and give exposure to the GM vehicles. 
  • Order company cars for executives and the Board of Directors, and float vehicles for drivers who cannot pick out their vehicles, engineering vehicles, or manufacturing validation build (MVB) orders for all future model years.  
  • Respond and assist with daily questions from coordinators and CVO/GM management regarding orders that may have been placed or that need to be placed. 
  • Manage multiple spreadsheets for orders and reports. 
  • Assist with all drive and buy vehicles needing to be tagged in the General Motors program. 
  • Manage the daily ordering email box. 

Leadership Responsibilities Include: 

  • Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision. 
  • Manage department revenue and costs within assigned budget; provide thoughtful recommendations and best practice solutions. 
  • Identify any gaps in processes and update procedures as required by system and/or process improvements. 
  • Execute the interview/hiring process of all direct reports and support the process of indirect reports. 
  • Complete goal setting, development plans, and annual reviews for reporting staff promptly. 
  • Coach and train team members to understand duties, responsibilities, and performance with established expectations. 
  • Ensure adherence to operating procedures, legal and compliance regulations, and IT Policies to minimize risk. 
  • Promote a team member-driven culture including a focus on safety. 
  • Create and maintain open communication with team members, peers, management, and other departments.  

Operations Ordering and Plating Supervisor Qualifications and Skills:  

  • Must have a valid driver’s license. 
  • Must have Excel experience. 
  • Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. 
  • Must be customer service oriented. 
  • Must have exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Must be a self-starter. 
  • Must be a reliable team player. 
  • 1-year customer service experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook applications preferred. 

Operations Ordering and Plating Supervisor Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include: 

  • 90% of the time this position will be completed while sitting. 
  • 10% of the time this position will be completed while walking.Â
