Job description

OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Executive Producer to join our broadcast television station. The Executive Producer is responsible for the overall editorial content, strategic direction and daily execution of multi-platform news coverage. The ideal candidate will have a strong news background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for storytelling. This role requires an innovative mindset, a deep understanding of news and evolving digital and streaming platforms, and a passion for compelling storytelling across all mediums. The Executive Producer coaches, inspires, and mentors a team of producers, reporters, and content creators, fostering a positive, collaborative newsroom culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead a team of content creators and manage the daily operations of the newsroom. This will include scheduling and assigning staff, coordinating and communicating planning of station events and community projects with other departments, and ensuring timely delivery of news content. You will be responsible for copyediting stories for several shows.
  • Collaborate with the News Director and other managers to develop and implement newsroom policies, procedures, and standards
  • Work closely with reporters, anchors, producers, and other staff to develop and execute compelling and accurate news content
  • Monitor and analyze news content, ratings, and audience feedback to make data-driven decisions about coverage and programming
  • Represent the newsroom and the station at community events, meetings, and public forums as needed
  • Participate in training, and mentoring newsroom personnel to ensure a high level of professionalism and excellence in all aspects of news production
  • Take a lead role in producing and developing content for the stream as well as managing a digital stream team as well as linear team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in broadcast news
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of journalists to achieve their best work
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in newsroom software, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules and deadlines.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $100,000.00-115,000.00 annually.
