Editor - NGB Executive Secretariat

Location: Arlington, VA / Washington, DC area, including NGB, TARC, Pentagon, ANGRC, Joint Base Andrews, and authorized telework locations
Work Arrangement: On-site/hybrid as authorized; remote work is not permitted
Clearance: Secret required; Top Secret preferred
Employment Type: Full-time
Status: Contingent upon contract award

Position Summary

Summit Technologies is seeking an Editor to support official correspondence and staff action quality for the NGB Executive Secretariat. This position will help ensure documents are accurate, clear, complete, properly formatted, and ready for senior-level review.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and proofread staff action products, correspondence, memoranda, reports, and briefings.
  • Review products for grammar, clarity, consistency, executive readability, and formatting.
  • Conduct research and fact-checking to support assigned documents.
  • Use track changes and editorial comments to recommend corrections.
  • Coordinate with Action Officers, Workflow Managers, Project Analysts, and Senior Editors.
  • Support staff action templates, document standards, and style guidance.
  • Assist with electronic filing, archiving, document libraries, and records support.
  • Help maintain continuity products and editorial process aids.
  • Review documents under tight suspense conditions.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in English, Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Public Policy, History, Education, or related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in editing, writing, research, document control, or staff support.
  • Excellent grammar, formatting, and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CAC and Government system access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DoD and NGB correspondence standards.
  • Experience supporting military headquarters, executive secretariat, or staff action environments.
  • Experience with senior-leader communication products.

* Note: The anticipated salary range for this contingent upon award position is $80,000 to $140,000 annually. The final offered salary will be determined by the candidate's specific qualifications, relevant experience, location, and the final funding level approved by the client upon contract award.
