Job description

Description
The Organization Studies area at Vanderbilt University's Owen Graduate School of Management announces, subject to budgetary approval, a two-year post-doctoral fellowship for newly-graduating PhDs in organizational behavior, human resource management, or other closely-related fields, covering topics such as employment relationships; ethics; negotiation; cross-cultural management; employee voice; power and status; corporate social responsibility; and diversity, stigma, and discrimination.
Postdocs are expected to work with Owen faculty on new research projects while making progress toward the publication of their current work. To be eligible, candidates must complete the Ph.D. by summer 2022. The strongest candidates will be those whose interests align closely with Owen faculty, and where the postdoc and faculty member can foresee developing joint research projects. To see our faculty, filter by the subject area "Organization Studies" on this page: https://business.vanderbilt.edu/our-school/faculty/faculty-directory.
The two-year fellowship will begin in August of 2022. In addition to salary and benefits, postdocs receive an annual allowance for research/conference-related travel and expenses. In addition, the school provides computers and computer support. During the period of the fellowship, fellows are expected to be in residence, work with faculty on research projects, participate in research seminars in the school and teach one course each year or otherwise contribute to the teaching and research mission of the school.
The Owen Graduate School of Management is engaged in graduate and undergraduate management education. It has an enrollment of over 600 students in its MBA, Executive MBA, Americas MBA for Executives, Master of Science in Finance, Masters of Accountancy, Master of Marketing, and Master of Management in Health Care programs. In addition, Owen School faculty members teach in the Vanderbilt University undergraduate business minor. The Owen School enrolls students from all parts of the U.S. and 40 countries. Founded in 1873, Vanderbilt University is an internationally recognized research university with a student body of some 13,500 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, and approximately 1,460 full-time faculty (excluding faculty employed by the Medical Center), of whom 51 have their primary appointment in the Owen School. The university is situated on a 330-acre campus located a mile and a half south of downtown Nashville.
Vanderbilt and the Owen School seek to attract an active, culturally, and intellectually diverse faculty, staff, and student body. More information about Vanderbilt's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives is available at http://www.vanderbilt.edu/inclusion.
