In the role of Hydraulics EIT, we'll count on you to:
  • Collaborate with a team on the design of urban and rural roadways, highway and transit projects, stormwater management plans, and floodplain evaluations.
  • Work under the direction of project engineers to apply various drainage design, engineering and modeling techniques in the development of transportation and water resource projects for local municipalities, state and federal clients
  • Prepare design drawings with BIM/CADD platforms for construction/contract plans along with specifications and cost estimates
  • Prepare hydraulic calculations and design deliverables, including hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, floodplain impact and compensation evaluations, stormwater modelling, bridge hydraulic and scour assessments, roadway drainage design, erosion and sediment control, water quality and attenuation systems, and permitting
  • Assist with writing drainage reports and technical memos
  • Perform water quality assessments and calculations
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Water Resources or related discipline
  • Previous experience or internship experience performing drainage design for highway/roadway projects, preparing plans, and permitting
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads Designer focused on storm water design
  • Adaptable to conditions including fast-paced and deadline driven work environment
  • Ability to work in the office to allow for collaboration
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental, water resources or other related fields
  • EIT or the ability to obtain within 6 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will be called a Civil Coordinator and will be expected to obtain EIT for career progression
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated to complete tasks and learn new skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
