Position Title: Room Attendant
Immediate Supervisor: Executive Housekeeping Manager
Major Function:
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and arrangement of supplies in guest rooms to exceed to the guest's expectations.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
  • Daily clean and return vacant dirty rooms to a vacant ready status, and occupied dirty rooms to an occupied clean status. Cleaning includes lighting fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings, floors and carpets. Also includes a thorough cleaning of the bathroom and vanity areas.
  • Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
  • Assist in general clean program by changing all blankets, duvets/bedspreads, and mattress pads as required at your property or as needed. Other general clean items as identified on the general clean checklist.
  • Complete assigned daily room projects (thresholds, edging, etc.).
  • Assist in the carpet care program by daily spot cleaning guest room carpets as the room is being cleaned.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly housekeeping cart and restocks it daily.
  • Report any damaged or inoperable room items to Maintenance via a work order.
  • Report any discrepancies to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Assist in maintaining other areas of the hotel in a clean and orderly condition, (eg. associate lounge and locker room, public areas, stairwells, and back of the house area).
  • Respond to guest requests and inquiries immediately.
  • The ability to communicate with our guests in English is necessary to give them the service level expected.
  • Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
  • Be able to lift and carry 30 pounds; push and pull 60 pounds.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Follow cleaning procedures as trained by Housekeeping Manager. When through training associate should continue to practice skills taught.
  • Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions observed immediately. Always practice good sanitization habits when cleaning the guest room.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with Associate Handbook. Associate must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including, but not limited to, those contained in the Associate Handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable of performing.
