Job description

Security Officer

We are seeking vigilant and dependable Security Officers and Security Guards to join our growing team in Grand Rapids, MI. This rewarding role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities with highly flexible scheduling across a 24/7 environment, including day, evening, and overnight shifts. As an operations security guard or officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe, stable, and secure environment for our staff, visitors, and property. Your daily responsibilities will include conducting regular foot patrols, monitoring live surveillance systems, enforcing facility access control measures, and responding promptly to onsite emergencies. Ideal candidates will possess strong observational skills, a proactive approach to safety, and the ability to remain calm and decisive as a professional security officer in challenging situations.

Varying operational days to fit your schedule.

Varying shifts available: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts (Days, Evenings, and Overnights).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct regular patrols across the premises to ensure the total safety and security of the property.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment actively and respond immediately to alarms, incidents, or security breaches.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations consistently to maintain proper order on site.
  • Provide excellent customer service as a visible security guard to clients, visitors, and company staff.
  • Enforce site rules and regulations while maintaining a highly professional demeanor in all conflict management situations.
  • Collaborate closely with local law enforcement agencies during active investigations or emergency situations.
  • Document all operational incidents accurately in written reports for future reference and administrative review.
  • Respond promptly, safely, and appropriately to sudden emergencies and disturbances.

Requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent credential.
  • Reliable personal transportation to get to the job site.
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the public.
  • Previous experience as a security guard, security officer, military member, or law enforcement professional is preferred but not required.
