The Display Products department is searching for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our team. We like to learn, have fun, and make a difference! We are looking for a strong, passionate leader with an action oriented, collaborative mindset, who operates with a vision, delivers benefits to meet/exceed expectations, builds and enhances his/her people, evaluates performance of self and others by results, plans for his/her people’s needs, anticipates project/organizational change, all while operating with Full Integrity. Display Products is responsible for designing displays for both commercial and military avionics.

What You Will Do:
  • Familiarity with AMLCDs used for avionics as well as emerging Display Technologies
  • Technical leadership for a group of engineers to ensure program commitments are met
  • Ensures consistency with Collins Consistent Engineering Processes
  • Ensures compliance with Program / Product requirements as reflected in design plans
  • Participates in the budgetary planning process through identification of staffing, facilities, capital, and support needs
  • Responsible for management and performance of engineering personnel to meet required deliverables
  • Leads wide range of entry-level to highly experienced Engineers and Technologists
  • Demonstrates technical expertise in Displays and the associated technologies
  • Supports the development and upkeep of Product and Technology roadmaps and participates in industry committees; champions roadmaps with internal stakeholders.
  • Supports development of Strategic & Financial Planning and Annual Operating Plans with Product Managers; sets direction for discretionary budget planning/allocation that is aligned with customer needs and executes against the plan within budget and schedule
  • Maintains awareness of technology and Company's competitive position
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Successful leadership experience in developing certified flight deck displays is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal, team building and leadership skills
  • Technical project management experience is highly desirable
  • Proven record of meeting objectives and commitments
  • Possess a collaborative way of working and critical, innovative thinking
  • Demonstrated success in balancing system performance and affordability
  • Strong communicator, able to interface with the spectrum of individual contributor to executive leadership
