Job Summary:

Griffin Construction is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Executive to join our leadership team. This role is crucial to our operations, responsible for

overseeing all field operations across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be a mentor to our on-site engineers and project management, ensuring project excellence, ensuring we are following “the right process”, and a key liaison between the field and our company owner. This role would also be responsible for our preconstruction services, which include: estimating, scheduling, constructability reviews, value engineering recommendations, and strategic planning. This position requires commercial construction management experience, a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills, customer service skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Operations Leadership: Provide direct oversight, mentorship, and support to10 + project managers and engineers, as well as our supervision.
  • Project Oversight and Management: Regularly visit multiple job sites to assess project progress quality of work, and adherence to timelines. Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to keep projects on track. Travel around Oregon will be required.
  • Preconstruction: Lead our efforts with preconstruction services with CMGC and design/build work
  • Estimating/Bidding/Contracting: Help us pursue work, bid it and buy it out
  • Collaboration, Teamwork & Communication: Act as the primary link between project the teams and our company owner. Collaborate closely with Superintendents, project managers and safety manager to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations: Represent the company professionally and maintain excellent client relationships through clear communication, transparency, and a customer-service-oriented approach.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in the commercial construction industry, with significant experience in a project management role. Ability to demonstrate overseeing multiple projects would be preferred. Bachelor's degree in construction engineering management preferred.
  • Public Works Expertise: Proven track record of successfully completing public works projects (e.g., schools, libraries, fire stations, municipal buildings).
  • Technical Proficiency: Computer and technology savvy, with a strong ability to use project management software, scheduling tools, Excel spreadsheets, and communication platforms to streamline operations. Exceptional at reading plans and specs.
  • Leadership & People Management: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate field teams. Strong ability to hold self and team accountable to deadlines.
  • Communication & Customer Service: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must possess a strong client-facing presence and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
