Colon and Rectal Surgeon Needed at Bon Secours in Coastal Virginia
Bon Secours in the beautiful, coastal Hampton Roads region of Virginia is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified colorectal surgeon to join our team. This is a rare opportunity to join a group and take over the high-quality, community-based, turnkey colorectal surgery practice of our long-time surgeon who is relocating out of the area. This position has strong collaboration, support and referral network from the GI practice, our Surgical Specialists team of 8 providers and our Hampton Roads medical group of 185 providers.
Effective 7/1/26: No Non-Compete in Employment Agreement
Your practice includes the following:
  • Full-time practice encompassing 50% outpatient, 50% inpatient, surgery, and consultations.
  • Highly experienced support staff including Colorectal LPN for 1:1 clinical support, Oncology Navigator, Surgery Scheduler, Practice Administrator, Patient Service Reps and RN in the practice.
  • Practice Hours M-F 8a-4p, no weekends but call is required
  • Average 15-20 patients per clinic day.
  • 1:4 Call shared with general surgery - 1 weekday per week and one weekend per month. 7 calls required per month. Excess comp beyond 7 calls. Medication refills pended to open office hours.
  • 2 hospital call coverage
  • EPIC EMR, DAX/Co-Pilot A/I charting available. Telemedicine as needed via MyChart.
  • Procto Tables and DV5 Robot
  • Procedures Colonoscopies, colon resections, hemorrhoidectomy, fistula surgery, proctectomy
  • New Provider will be the sole colon and rectal surgeon in the practice, joining 2 general surgeons and 2 bariatric surgeons.

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO successfully completed U.S.-based General Surgery Residency and Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship, ABMS Board Certified in Colorectal Surgery
  • New Grads welcome to apply. 1 to 2 years of experience in Colorectal Surgery highly preferred. Mentorship available from General Surgeons for newer-to-practice providers.
  • BLS, ACLS
  • Active and unrestricted Virginia medical license and DEA license, or ability to secure these prior to hire.
  • Minimally invasive and robotic experience preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Guaranteed Base Compensation of $450,000 for first two years plus productivity and quality incentives if wRVU threshold is met
  • Bonus Available: wRVU Productivity, $ per wRVU Quality Goal, System KPI attainment

  • Annual CME Allowance: $10,000
