We are looking for a full-time Lead OB/GYN to work in our headquarters in San Francisco, CA.


North East Medical Services (NEMS) is a non-profit community health center serving the medically-underserved populations of the San Francisco Bay Area. With over 40 years of experience, NEMS is one of the largest health centers serving Asians in the United States.


NEMS operates  ten clinics  throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, with the main clinic located at 1520 Stockton Street in Chinatown/North Beach; five additional clinics in San Francisco's Portola, Visitacion Valley, Richmond districts and Sunset districts; as well as satellite sites in Daly City and San Jose.


NEMS has over 60 health care providers who offer a range of medical specialties, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Practice, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Dentistry, Optometry, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, and Radiology. In addition, ancillary services such as mental health, podiatry, nutrition, pharmacy, laboratory and social services strengthen the quality of care that patients receive.


Fulfilling the needs of a Community, North East Medical Services is currently seeking  Residents or established Fmaily Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatric Physicians.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 -Provides primary medical care to all patients in accordance with the physician’s medical specialty

 -Develops a plan of care for each patient, including: complete medical history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment

 -Hospitalizes NEMS patients when appropriate and serves as the attending physicians for the patient during his/her stay in the hospital

 -On rotation, serves as the on-call physician when the NEMS clinic is not open

 -Able to work on Saturday clinic on a rotation basis

 -Stresses the importance of preventative health care measures

 -Uses all available resources in diagnosis and treatment, such as laboratory and radiological testing

 -Confers with consulting physicians, nurse, patients, and patient’s families concerning treatment and care of patients

 -Refers those cases which require specialist services, but maintains responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provide

 -Participates in the development and implementation of a regularly updated performance improvements plans for NEMS

 -Adheres to ethical, professional and legal requirements as mandated by federal. State, local and funding agencies

 -Uses agency required technology as part of clinical practice

 -Attends all medical staff meeting and participates in the community health center’s Quality Assurance program

 -Performs other necessary duties as required by the Supervisor, Medical Director, and CEO

 -Assists in the training of para-professional and non-medical personnel


QUALIFICATIONS:

 -Graduation from an accredited school of medicine

 -Licensed to practice medicine in the State of California

 -Ability to work as team with other health professionals and non-medical personnel

 -Board eligible or certified in OB/GYN

 -Meets the local hospital’s professional standards for staff privileges, and maintains staff admitting privileges at the local hospital. The local hospital at which staff privileges must be maintained will be determined by the Medical Director

 -Bilingual in Chinese (Mandarin/ Cantonese) and English preferred. Spanish an asset

 -Awareness of the unique health problems and needs of the Asian and Hispanic community helpful

 -Possess strong work ethic
