Department: Administration

FLSA Status: Exempt - 12-month position
Salary Grade: 8A ($54,452-$68,064-$81,677)/yr.

SUMMARY
Under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director, works collaboratively with other directors and administrators to integrate into the organization's culture and decision making processes and advance the mission and values of St. Labre Indian School Educational Association as a Roman Catholic institution serving Native Americans.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts St. Labre's right to assign or reassign duties to this job at any time.
  1. Models commitment to the mission and values of St. Labre Indian School Educational Association as a Roman Catholic educational institution established to serve Native Americans.
  2. Advises the Executive Director on matters pertaining to maintaining and strengthening the Catholic identity of the organization.
  3. Develops and provides Christian worship experiences, in collaboration with the parishes, that serve to emphasize and build upon the commonalities of the multiple faiths represented at St. Labre so that all are welcomed and feel a part of the mission and ministry of St. Labre.
  4. Leads in the planning and implementation of the Theology Curriculum throughout the schools and acts in the role of Director of Religious Education DRE .
  5. Works with local parish priests to administer the sacramental preparation program in the schools.
  6. Administers the Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest program on all campuses.
  7. Coordinates visits by students, staff and faculty of, primarily, Catholic colleges, universities and seminaries that may become a source for employees or religious personnel.
  8. Develops and provides educational opportunities so that all employees, Catholic and non-Catholic, become more familiar with the Roman Catholic Faith and its import on their conduct as employees.
  9. Learns about and integrates the Native American culture and language, and specifically that of the Northern Cheyenne and Crow tribes, into the activities of this position.
  10. Designs and implements opportunities for employees and students to practice the Gospel in meaningful service projects in the parishes and communities.
  11. Assists in orientation and ongoing education of employees, volunteers, Board of Directors, tribes and the general public regarding St. Labre's mission and values, including planning Mission Quest and Catholic Schools Week.
  12. Promotes celebrations/rituals that focus on the organization's and each school's Catholic identity and spirituality.
  13. Participates in bi-weekly directors' meetings and reports on activities of this position.
  14. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, classes, workshops and professional associations.
  15. Administers the Miracle Meals Weekend backpack food program and supervises the three Food Security JVs, and all the JVs on all campuses in efficiently running the program.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the Campus Ministry Coordinator and the three Campus Ministry Jesuit Volunteers on each campus. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in theology and/or pastoral ministry (Master's degree preferred) and/or education. Experience working with the Native American community and a Catholic institution.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Minimal travel to local communities, school locations and training and/or conferences.
