Job description

The City of Burbank is seeking an experienced and collaborative municipal leader to serve as its next Assistant Community Development Director - Housing & Homeless Services. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a recently established division, build upon a strong foundation, and help shape housing and homelessness policy in one of Southern California's most dynamic and well-managed communities.
Reporting to the Community Development Director, the Assistant Community Development Director leads the Housing & Homeless Services Division and oversees a diverse portfolio that includes the Housing Authority and Housing Choice Voucher Program, affordable housing development and preservation, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME programs, tenant protections and housing enforcement, homeless services, and the Burbank Successor Agency. As a key member of the Department's leadership team, this position collaborates across departments, works closely with executive leadership and the City Attorney's Office, represents the City before the Council and community stakeholders, and helps advance some of the City's highest priorities.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, adaptable, politically astute, and comfortable leading a high-performing team while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and the City Council.
