Information Review and Release Analyst-SME

Nightwingseeks a full-time Information Review and Release Analyst for our litigation team. This opportunity provides a flexible work schedule in the Herndon, VA area, in support of a dynamic fast paced business office. This position requires for the individual to oversee the declassification of documents related to litigation cases (i.e.civil or criminal cases). The successful applicant must be detail oriented with the ability to record the chronological order of events from beginning to end. These cases are sensitive in nature and must be handle with strict confidentiality.

This position requires the analyst to organize documents in preparation for legal counsel to review and the documents must be properly recorded with accuracy. This person will act as a liaison for Other Government Agencies (OGA's) involved in the process and conduct desktop research and analyze results todeterminethe relevance of a new search ordetermineif the requested records have been previously declassified and/or released.

The individual will provide the rationale for redaction actions on the electronic version of the documents using codes provided in the Customer's declassification guide, provide recommendationsregardingthe release of the documents for Customer's approval, and record decisions in the Customer's systems. This person willdetermineif a recordcontainsOGA equities and requires external referral or if the record requires non-routine handling and they will manage the referral process. They willbe responsible fororganizing documents in preparation for declassification review and correctly assign these items to the proper equity holder. They will researchpreviousdeclassification/release decisions as necessary to ensure accuracy and consistency and provide feedback to the Customer.
The candidate must be able to successfully apply critical-thinking skills when evaluating each unique case, and whenutilizea broad array of customer systems and toolsin order toaccurately inform the review and release process. Due to the complexity of most requests, timemanagementand the ability to collaborate with other team members isa must. The selected candidate must be able to consistently deliver high-quality,accuratework, and be willing to perform ad hoc duties as needed. Candidatesare able toexplore their creative side foridentifyingprocess improvement ideas.
Typical Duties includebut are not limited to:
Reviews & redacts certain equities within classified documents,recordsand filesin accordance withestablished standard operating procedures,workflowsand policies.
Submits requests to the scanning team to scan any documents needed for research
Submits requests to the search team to conduct the initial of search for data relevant to the case
Assists with the training of newly hired search team members, as requested
Collaborates with supervisory client POCs to recommend and implement changes that improves processes, workflows and standard operating procedures
Works an eight-hour shift between 6:00AM -6:00PM, Monday-Friday.
o Infrequently provides surge support outside of normal office hours for short-fused emergent requests

Mandatory Skills/Experience

RequiresSignificantexperience(16+ years)with our clientandan advanced understanding of Agency equities.

Significant experienceworking with OGAs and is capable of high-level communication with the Office of General Counsel (OGC).

Stronganalytical (reviewer), problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills as well as experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Must have knowledge of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Privacy Act (PA), Executive Order Mandatory Declassification Review (EOMDR) programs and Executive Order (EO) 13526 directive

Strong knowledge of the intelligence community withananalytical skills background

Knowledge of legal terminology - such as used in the role of paralegal, police enforcement,securityor court systems

Strong work ethic

Organizational and time management skills.

Strongproficiencyin on-line tools such as Word, Excel, and Access, and other required systems to be able to perform the duties.

Strong multitasking ability, adaptable, and flexible skills.
