Job description

Executive Assistant, School of Architecture Dean's Office

The School of Architecture at the University of Virginia invites applications for Executive Assistant to support Dean's office operations. The selected candidate will consistently display professionalism, organization, and collaboration, creating a positive first impression as an individual and as a representative of the University. This position provides high level support in the Dean's office.

Responsibilities include managing the daily operations and administrative functions of the Dean's Office, ensuring efficiency of Dean's Office operations, managing schedule and travel and reimbursements for the Dean, providing procurement and related administrative support to the Finance Unit, supporting administrative aspects of School processes, coordinating across multiple units, managing schedules of School-wide meetings, leading logistics for major events in the Dean's Office and School, and proficiency in use Microsoft Office applications and Virtual platforms or storage.

This position requires a collaborative and adaptable professional with strong written and verbal communication skills who can effectively support leadership while working both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will exercise discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential and personnel matters and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism, flexibility, and a high level of service. Minimum Qualifications include Education: Bachelor's Degree or combination of education and related experience in lieu of a degree required. Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience required.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. Hiring Range: $60,000 - $65,000, commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and primarily performed on-site. It is eligible for a hybrid schedule based on performance, operational needs and in accordance with UVA's remote work guidelines.
