The Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI) is a global alliance of industry leaders in the digital asset space with a mission to demonstrate the transformational promise of crypto and communicate its benefits to policymakers, regulators, and people around the globe.

Crypto has immense potential to spur international economic growth and create jobs, improve financial inclusion and access, and enhance privacy and security. By sharing insights and expertise about the global crypto ecosystem while addressing misperceptions and misinformation, CCI supports governments and institutions worldwide in efforts to shape and encourage the responsible regulation of crypto in a way that unlocks potential and improves lives.

The Opportunity: 

CCI is looking for a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded leader with experience scaling a 501(c)(6) industry organization and developing a performance culture among a group of diverse, talented individuals. The Director of Operations must be a leader who is able to help others at CCI deliver measurable, cost-effective results that make the vision a reality. 

Responsibilities:

The Director of Operations will lead all internal operations and have the following responsibilities:

  • Working in partnership with senior leadership, including the CEO, to create the necessary processes to ensure seamless and efficient operations of CCI.   Serve as the internal leader of the organization with a focus on the following:
    • Develop and manage the annual operations plan;
    • Provide a strong day-to-day operational presence and serve as the internal point of contact for matters related to HR, IT, administrative, and other operational functions; and
    • Maintain CCI membership operations, including preparation of necessary member-facing materials and documents, onboarding, renewals (and related processes), relevant data updates, invoicing, and white-glove level responsiveness.
  • Finance, Technology, and Human Resources
    • Help manage any outside accounting and finance vendors as well as other support resources for financial functions, including, among other items, invoice processing, expense tracking, credit card reconciliation, reporting, and more; 
    • Manage annual audit and tax preparation and compliance filings required by federal and state agencies;  
    • Help support the annual budgeting process including tracking against projections (as needed).
    • Prepare, review and submit all relevant Federal and State lobbying reporting requirements, including member dues percentage reporting (in partnership with relevant CCI colleagues); 
    • Oversee the HR function including talent acquisition, compensation recommendations, benefits management, employee handbook, employee relations, performance evaluation and learning and development; 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for CCI’s HRIS system, including payroll, benefits administration, and PTO tracking;
    • Ensure successful employee onboarding/offboarding, maintain personnel files, and manage benefits administration in partnership with third party vendors; 
    • Oversee current technology infrastructure (e.g., Google Suite, Slack, Notion, etc.) including permission controls, creating new groups, and maintaining shared drives.
    • Support senior leadership, including the CEO, with any necessary preparation for meetings relating to the foregoing.  

Office and Administration Management

  • Serve as primary administrator and point of contact for CCI’s Washington D.C. headquarters and office management including relevant contract and lease renewals.

Industry Affairs & CCI Membership Support

  • Collaborate closely with other CCI colleagues to ensure a high level of member support and satisfaction. 
  • Be responsible for new membership and member renewal operations including membership pipeline tracking, new member research, preparing sales decks, contracting and invoicing.

As a prerequisite, you must be driven by CCI’s mission. In addition, we are seeking a candidate that has proven operational expertise and a demonstrated ability to both lead and build the capabilities of a driven, bright, and diverse team. You should also have the following experience and skills:

  • Results-proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; high level of business acumen including the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget; and problem solving, project management, and creative resourcefulness;
  • Thorough understanding of finance, systems, and HR; broad experience with the full range of business functions and systems, including, among others, information systems, human resources, and marketing;
  • Experience working with senior management and Board of Directors; 
  • A passion and strong curiosity for digital assets and eagerness to learn;
  • Familiarity utilizing various AI tools and technologies to maximize efficiency with work streams and processes; and 
  • The ability to travel as needed.
