About the Role:
The Strategic Sales Advisor provides strategic sales expertise, industry insight, and account support to advance growth within the distribution and fulfillment market. Working closely with the EVP of Solutions & Growth and the broader sales team, this role serves as a trusted advisor on strategic opportunities, customer relationships, and sales effectiveness.
Leveraging extensive experience in the material handling industry, the Strategic Sales Advisor will support select accounts and opportunities, coach and develop sales team members, and provide guidance on complex or high-value pursuits. This role combines strategic advisory support with hands-on customer engagement to strengthen DCS's sales capabilities and position the organization for continued growth.
In this role, you will:
  • Partner with the EVP of Solutions & Growth and sales team to providestrategic guidance on key accounts, opportunities, and growth initiatives.
  • Support select distribution and fulfillment accounts, serving as an experienced resource throughout the sales process.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key customer stakeholders and support the development of long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, opportunity strategy sessions, and negotiations as needed.
  • Advise sales team members on account strategy, customer engagement, competitive positioning, and complex sales opportunities.
  • Coach and mentor sales team members to strengthen sales effectiveness, industry knowledge, and customer relationship skills.
  • Develop and facilitate training focused on areas such as consultative selling, account development, opportunity strategy, and relationship management.
  • Share industry knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned to support the continued development of the sales organization.
  • Provide insight into customer needs, market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities within the distribution and fulfillment market.
  • Identify and help develop new customer relationships and potential growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Solutions, Sales, Operations, and other teams to align customer strategies with DCS capabilities.
  • Support strategic and special projects identified by the EVP of Solutions & Growth.
  • Contribute to sales tools, approaches, and best practices that improve consistency and effectiveness across the sales organization.

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training, or developing sales professionals.
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance while remaining actively engaged in customer and opportunity-specific work.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand customer challenges and connect them with potential solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, solutions, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Strong understanding of the material handling industry, competitive landscape, and evolving distribution and fulfillment needs.
