The Opportunity

Solarcore is an advanced materials technology company that develops the most scientifically innovative thermal solutions on the planet. We are on a mission to solve the world’s largest thermal efficiency problems by revolutionizing the antiquated world of thermal insulation.

Solarcore is hiring for the Account Executive – Consumer role.  This is a sales and business development role to own the creation, development, and closure of new consumer brand opportunities across multiple soft-goods industries.

This is a senior individual contributor role with full ownership of opportunity generation, application development, and deal close. You will operate with high autonomy, work directly with leading brands and innovation teams, and play a critical role in defining where—and how—our material wins in the market.  This role is ideal for someone who thrives in identifying opportunities, building markets and is motivated by turning breakthrough technology into scalable revenue.

As the Account Executive – Consumer, you are passionate about brand access and influence.  You love to create strategic relevance to product roadmaps for and with our partners and you are a creative problem-solver.

This position will report to the VP Sales - Soft Goods and will collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Operations and Finance in the day-to-day.

Key Responsibilities

·      Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities across consumer footwear, apparel, gloves, outdoor, ski, workwear, athletic, and lifestyle categories with occasional cross-over to Military/Tactical

·      Open and develop relationships with product innovation, design, engineering, sourcing, and commercial leaders at targeted brands

·      Translate material performance attributes into compelling product-level and brand-level value propositions

·      Collaborate closely with internal PD and technical teams to guide application development, testing, and validation

·      Lead opportunities from first engagement through development agreements, pricing, contracts, and commercial launch

·      Manage long-cycle, multi-stakeholder sales processes and maintain momentum through ambiguity and iteration

·      Build and manage a robust pipeline aligned with strategic markets and scalable applications

Experience and Requirements

·      8+ years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles involving materials, components, or performance soft goods

·      Proven success as a senior individual contributor owning long-cycle opportunities from discovery to close

·      Strong hunter mentality with demonstrated ability to create opportunities in new or undefined markets

·      Comfort engaging deeply with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

·      High level of autonomy, curiosity, and resilience in fast-moving or early-stage environments

·      Represent Solarcore at industry forums, tradeshows, customer engagements, strategic planning events and company meetings at Solarcore HQ in Portland, OR.  Travel expectations 50%+.

·      Other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills

·      Experience in advanced materials, insulation systems, performance textiles, or component technologies

·      Background working with or selling into footwear, outdoor, apparel, or protective equipment brands

·      Familiarity with product development cycles, testing protocols, and commercialization timelines
