Manager of Infection Control

Our client is a 25 bed Critical Access not for profit hospital centrally located in California. Minutes to wine country and over 300 wineries!
Experience working in a flat organization with no more than 2 people in between you and the CEO at any time quick decisions and the ability to make an impact without corporate approval! Work with patients in a quaint community from cradle to grave and get to know them as more than just a number!

The Supervisor of Infection Prevention (SIP) is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and quality management and coordination of the System’s Infection Prevention Program including but not
limited to Surveillance and prevention activities, data collection, analysis and trending, education of staff, and being a key resource for all departments and services regarding Infection Control and prevention.
Is accountable for, and will ensure adherence to infection control standards, policies and procedures. Will work collaboratively with the Medical Staff and Employee Health Services.
Achievement and possession of a current Board Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) is highly preferred at the time of hire, and throughout employment as reflection of successful completion of verified competency through a combination of education, and written examination.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Public Health, Nursing, or related field, required. Master’s Degree preferred..
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) will be considered.
Licensing/Certification:
  • Current California Registered Nurse license, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.
  • Current Certification in Infection Prevention (CIC) highly preferred.
Experience:
  • Recent 3+ years of experience in infection prevention and control in an acute healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of microbiology, laboratory procedures, aseptic technique and epidemiological techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and utilize scientific data and statistical techniques / methods; screen data results for variations and/or errors, function as liaison, instructor, consultant and coordinator.
