The General Manager / Chef Manager will oversee every aspect of the on-site food-service program while serving hourly production employees, salaried professionals, plant leadership, executives, and visiting guests. It is a working executive-chef and account-management role. The successful candidate must be comfortable managing the business, leading employees, maintaining the client relationship, completing administrative responsibilities, and actively assisting with food preparation and service.
About the Operation
This is a single-shift, corporate dining account operating primarily Monday through Friday.
The program includes:
- Breakfast service
- Lunch service
- On-site catering
- Special events and client functions
The operation is located in a newly constructed kitchen, serving area, and dining space. The GM / Chef Manager is responsible for the complete food-service account. Vending and micro-market services are not included in this position’s responsibilities.
Occasional extended hours, early arrivals, special events, or limited weekend catering may be required based on business needs. Our client is open to providing a relocation assistance program for the right candidate.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assume full responsibility for the daily and long-term success of the account.
- Lead, schedule, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate all culinary and service employees.
- Maintain a strong, professional relationship with client leadership.
- Oversee the complete execution of breakfast, lunch, catering, and special events.
- Develop weekly menus consistent with the client’s expectations.
- Lead a scratch-oriented culinary program using fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Actively participate in food preparation, production, presentation, and service.
- Maintain high standards for food quality, flavor, portioning, appearance, timeliness, and consistency.
- Manage food cost, labor cost, purchasing, inventory, productivity, waste, and product utilization.
- Complete payroll, production records, inventories, vendor ordering, financial reports, and client reporting accurately and on time.
- Ensure all required operational and financial information is entered correctly into company accounting and reporting systems.
- Use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Sheets, email, and other company systems to complete reports, communicate professionally, maintain records, and manage the account.
- Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, culinary programs, financial controls, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and inspection-ready operation.
- Ensure compliance with all company and government food-safety and sanitation requirements.
- Create a positive dining experience that meets the needs of both manufacturing employees and salaried leadership.
- Address client, employee, and operational concerns promptly and professionally.
