Job description

Why this role matters:

A Public Sector Capture Manager is essentially the "general" of a specific high-value deal. Unlike a standard sales role that focuses on the volume of leads, a Capture Manager is responsible for the strategic pursuit of a single, complex government contract (often $50M+) from the early intelligence phase through to the final award.

Their primary goal is to maximize the Probability of Win (Pwin) by shaping the requirements before the Request for Proposal (RFP) is even released.

This role will require frequent travel to Government Clients, most of which are in the DC Area.

Who we are:

Ivanti empowers organisations to manage and secure technology smarter through our AIpowered Ivanti Neurons platform. We help IT and Security teams reduce complexity, work proactively, and deliver better outcomes at scale for customers around the world.

Ivanti helps organisations work smarter through Autonomous Endpoint Management powered by our AIdriven Ivanti Neurons platform-delivering better outcomes for our customers by reducing complexity and enabling proactive IT and security operations.

In this role, your work will support Ivanti's mission to enable Autonomous Endpoint Management and deliver better outcomes for our customers. You'll contribute to solutions that help IT and Security teams move away from manual, reactive work towards smarter, more proactive operations. Your impact will be tangible-shaping customer experience, improving product capability, and supporting scalable, resilient outcomes. You'll work as part of a collaborative team where your contribution matters every day.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Strategic Planning: Developing a comprehensive "Capture Plan" that outlines the win strategy, value proposition, and specific discriminators that set your company apart.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining deep relationships with government stakeholders, including Program Managers, Contracting Officers, and End Users, to understand their "pain points."
  • Competitive Intelligence: Analyzing competitors past performance, pricing strategies, and likely teaming arrangements to position your solution effectively.
  • Teaming & Partnership: Identifying and negotiating with potential subcontractors or prime partners (especially small businesses to meet socio-economic requirements).
  • Internal Orchestration: Leading cross-functional teams - including Solution Architects, Pricing, Legal, and Proposal Managers - to ensure the technical and financial offer is both compliant and compelling.
  • Gate Reviews: Presenting progress to executive leadership at various "decision gates" (e.g., Interest, Pursuit, Preliminary Bid, Final Bid) to secure internal resources and funding for the pursuit.

What you will bring:

  • Experience: 6-10+ years in federal/public sector business development or capture.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of FAR/DFARS (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and agency-specific procurement cycles (DoD, IC, or Civilian).
  • Acumen: Proficiency in "Price-to-Win" (PTW) modeling and competitive assessment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Business or Technical); Master's or PMP/Shipley certification preferred.
  • Clearance: Often requires Secret, TS/SCI, or Public Trust depending on the agency focus.

Why Ivanti?

  • Friendly flexible working model: Empower excellence whether you're at home or in the office and support work-life balance.
  • Competitive compensation & total rewards: Including health, wellness, and financial plans tailored for you and your family.
  • Global, diverse teams: Collaborate with talented people from 23+ countries.
  • Learning & development: Grow your skills with access to best-in-class learning tools and programs.
  • Equity & belonging: We value every voice. Your story helps inform our solutions for a changing world.
