Position Description
Denham-Blythe is currently seeking a Business Development Manager for our Goodlettsville, TN office. The Business Development Manager for our will serve as a specialist in lead generation activities to execute the company's sales and marketing strategies. They will initiate contact with prospects and perform discovery to identify qualified leads in specific vertical markets, geographic regions, and/or assigned target accounts. Assists company executives to promote and sell services to industrial and healthcare owners.
Denham-Blythe is based in the southeast, but with a national reach, we are a true design-build firm that offers clients a simplified construction experience with a single-source partner that can help improve a project's schedule, costs, and quality. Founded in Lexington, KY in 1976, Denham-Blythe offers customers expertise in design, construction management and general construction services from offices in Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Essential Functions
  • Generates business through proactive outreach to new customers via cold calling and strategic email campaigning.
  • Builds and manages strategic call lists.
  • Seeks business opportunities for Denham-Blythe across select markets.
  • Assists company executive in participating in industry meetings, professional organizations, and conferences related to the company and its clients.
  • Spends time outside the office to promote Denham-Blythe and make contacts to develop and maintain a strong business network.
  • Develops internal sales relationships with Project Managers and assists with existing client follow-ups.
  • Schedules for and attends meetings with company executive with new/existing clients to introduce or gather project information.
  • Researches, qualifies, manages, and tracks potential clients, leads, upcoming projects, and related sales activities in conjunction with company executive.
  • Navigates the salesforce platform and the decision-making tree.
  • Identifies customer needs and passes on to the Project Managers.
  • Self-manages business development activities and coordinates with local executive.
  • Schedules next steps with the customer and the Vice-President or Project Manager, typically a proposal pre-bid.
  • Seamlessly transfers sales opportunities to the Vice-President or Project Manager.
  • Communicate and coordinates with marketing department and other offices with respect to sales/ networking opportunities.
  • Teaming outreach to architects, DB contractors and consultants for project pursuits.
  • Works with marketing staff to develop media posts.
  • Works closely with the company executives to develop and execute BD plans
  • Plans and coordinates local office events, visitors, etc.
  • Assist local executive in various sales and imaging tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Ability to travel to client locations throughout the southeast.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
