Job description

At Allstate, great things happen when our people work together to protect families and their belongings from life's uncertainties. And for more than 90 years, our innovative drive has kept us a step ahead of our customers' evolving needs. From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection.

Job Description

As a Legal Support Associate, you will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and business partners to support a wide range of complex investment transactions and legal operations.
This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to sophisticated legal and business matters while building practical experience in legal research, transaction support, document management, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago Riverpoint office and requires in-office attendance every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, track, and maintain the status of investment transactions and related documentation.

  • Coordinate the collection, organization, storage, and distribution of legal documents and information.

  • Obtain necessary approvals, signatures, and supporting documentation for investment transactions.

  • Conduct legal and regulatory research and communicate findings clearly and effectively.

  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and other communications under attorney supervision.

  • Respond to requests for information from internal business partners and external stakeholders.

  • Assist with project management activities, including coordinating tasks, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Support administrative operations, including mail processing, scanning, printing, and document management.

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and contribute to operational efficiencies.

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat, and web-based legal research tools.

  • Strong written, verbal, proofreading, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and analytical thinking.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, business partners, and other stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.
