What is an Executive AI Architect?

Executive AI Architects are senior professionals responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions within an organization. They bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring AI initiatives align with company goals. Their role often involves leading teams, establishing best practices, evaluating emerging technologies, and communicating AI strategies to stakeholders. Executive AI Architects work closely with C-suite executives to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge through the strategic use of AI.

How does an Executive AI Architect typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions?

As an Executive AI Architect, collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for aligning AI initiatives with business objectives. You will frequently work alongside data scientists, software engineers, business stakeholders, and IT leaders to ensure that technical strategies support organizational goals. This role often involves translating complex AI concepts into actionable plans, facilitating communication between technical and non-technical team members, and overseeing solution design from prototype to deployment. Strong leadership and communication skills are critical, as you’ll be responsible for guiding teams through challenges and ensuring cohesive project execution.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Executive AI Architect, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Executive AI Architect, you need deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and enterprise architecture, often supported by advanced degrees in computer science or related fields. Familiarity with AI frameworks (such as TensorFlow and PyTorch), cloud platforms (like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning) is typically required. Strategic vision, leadership, and strong communication skills are essential for aligning AI initiatives with business goals and leading cross-functional teams. These competencies are crucial for designing scalable AI solutions that drive organizational innovation and competitive advantage.

Job description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced AI Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade AI solutions. You will drive technical strategy, own solution architecture, and work closely with clients and stakeholders across the project lifecycle, from presales to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect end-to-end AI solutions spanning RAG pipelines, intelligent document processing, structured data extraction, and conversational AI.
  • Lead technical design using Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand requirements, translate them into scalable architectures, and present solutions confidently.
  • Support presales activities including RFP responses, technical proposals, and solution demos.
  • Prepare and present status reports and executive-level presentations for client and internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide the development team; conduct code reviews and enforce best practices.
  • Participate in the hiring process — shortlisting candidates, conducting technical interviews, and evaluating fit.
  • Ensure solutions are production-ready, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of overall experience with 3+ years in AI/ML solution architecture.
  • Hands-on expertise with Python, FastAPI, LangChain, LangGraph, and LangSmith.
  • Strong experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, and Azure AI services (Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence).
  • Experience working with evaluation concepts and frameworks such as RAGAS. Familiarity with LangSmith (or equivalent frameworks) for observability, tracing, and evaluation of LLM applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Foundry and Azure-based AI/ML ecosystems.
  • Solid understanding of API design (FastAPI, Swagger/OpenAPI), CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
  • Proven track record in client-facing roles — requirements gathering, solution presentations, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in presales — writing proposals, responding to RFPs, and building PoCs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multi-agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Exposure to structured data extraction from documents (invoices, contracts, reports).
  • Prior experience with team management or technical leadership roles.
