1UP Entertainment + Social
Night Kitchen Supervisor — 1UP Entertainment + Social
Carrollwood / Tampa, FL · Reports to Executive Chef
Bowling pins crashing, axes flying, golf sims, VR, arcade, two bars, and an upscale scratch kitchen putting out elevated food in a high-energy room — that's 1UP. We're not a heat-and-serve operation, and that's the point. We're hiring a hands-on Night Kitchen Supervisor to own service execution from dinner through close — including our highest-volume events, Latin Night, and catering nights.
You'll partner with our Day Kitchen Supervisor as a coordinate teammate — cross-trained, in constant communication, and ready to cover any part of the operation when the kitchen needs it. Together you run the kitchen.
This role is predominantly PM, but events and catering may require working days, nights, or mid-shifts as the calendar demands. Schedule flexibility is essential. Minimum 25 hours/week guaranteed; full-time hours available based on experience and fit.
What you'll do
- Work the line and lead the team. This is a working supervisor role — you cook, run a station, coach cooks, and step in wherever the team needs a hand.
- Run the kitchen solo when needed — slower hours as a one-person show, and opening or closing alone for routine operations, events, or catering jobs. You're trusted to run the kitchen on your own.
- Run the expo window. Call tickets, set timing across stations, plate and quality-check every dish before it leaves the pass — including allergen and dietary tickets handled with zero cross-contamination.
- Own PM service execution and lead events, Latin Night, and catering production — our highest-volume, highest-impact nights. You drive the plan and the team.
- Run closing duties: end-of-night cleaning, sanitation, equipment shutdown, flushing of pipe and drain lines, end-of-shift inventory counts and waste tracking, and a kitchen left ready for AM open. Flag pulls and 86s to the chef and Day Supervisor.
- Coordinate coverage and cross-train with the Day Supervisor on every part of the kitchen — ordering, prep, production, service, closing. Call-outs, swaps, and event staffing get solved as a team. Either of you should be able to cover the other when needed.
- Communicate constantly with Manager on Duty, chef, FOH, and the bar — service is a team sport.
What we need
- 4+ years kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant or bar, with at least some lead, shift-lead, or sous experience — you've run a shift before. Strong line skills across multiple stations.
- Ability to expo — set ticket timing across stations, plate to standard, and quality-check every dish at the pass.
- Comfortable opening or closing solo, and comfortable with Square KDS or a similar kitchen display system.
- Supreme communication skills with cooks, FOH, bar, chef, and the Day Supervisor. This role lives on communication.
- Can-do attitude — non-negotiable. No "not my job" energy. Problems get solved, not punted.
- Schedule flexibility is essential. Predominantly PM, but days, nights, mid-shifts, weekends, holidays, and event programs all come with the role. Pop-up shifts come with the role.
- Working knowledge of food safety, prep par levels, and basic cost awareness. Food handler certification required; ServSafe a plus (required within 60 days).
- Non-slip closed-toe shoes, hair restraint, and clean uniform standards required on every shift.
- Stand and move for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, work hot/cold conditions. Age 21+.
What you get
- Minimum 25 hours/week; more bsed on skill and fit.
- Employee discount on meals and attractions.
- Ground-floor growth opportunity — we promote from within.
