Job description

In this role, you will straddle the strategy and execution of AI Strategy & Execution at American Family. You will conduct analyses of market trends, customer empathy, and internal and external data to define a differentiated product vision that delivers unique value. You will be a leader in discipline, influencing others on product design, best practices, and principles. You will drive strategy and innovation as it relates to future technology products. We will measure success on outcomes and metrics according to area/enterprise goals.
You will report to the Senior Manager, AI Solutions and Innovation, and operate within the Enterprise Strategy & Innovation organization on the AI Solutions & Innovation team. Product Managers on this team work with business, data science, and technology teams to advise on innovation and AI strategy. They conceptualize future innovation opportunities and work directly with development teams to advise and lead product builds with AI components. You will balance strategic foresight into the evolving landscape and capabilities of AI. You will facilitate and influence the creation of an actionable path towards longer-horizon innovation. Additionally, you will be involved with tactical execution of near-term product builds with business and technology teams.

Position Compensation Range:

$113,000.00 - $194,000.00

Primary Accountabilities

Define and execute AI strategy across multiple business units, aligning with company goals and objectives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities, and develop business cases to support investment decisions.

Lead the development of AI product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Define AI strategy and then develop a creative, high-quality, and clear product roadmap.

Be the "translator" for internal stakeholders, including business lines and cross-functional teams.

Understand how and when to use design thinking, UX, and other frameworks into the process for a flexible hybrid methodology that fits the team, product, and customer.

Prioritize initiatives and get commitments from internal stakeholders using excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Mentor and help develop members of the team.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

Demonstrated experience communicating, strategizing and driving AI innovation with executive level partners

Proven track record of developing and launching successful AI products, with demonstrated business impact.

Strong technical understanding of AI technologies, including generative and agentic AI.

Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.

Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in digital/technology product offerings.

Extensive knowledge and understanding of software development processes with an appreciation for maintaining a high-quality bar with low operational overhead.

Demonstrated experience in data-driven products, data science facilitation, and iterative development lifecycles to solve business problems.

Demonstrated ability to gather information and data in build, buy and partner options for solving customer problems.

Demonstrated experience deriving key insights and patterns from customer interviews and using that input to clarify problem statements.

In this hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783; Boston, MA 02110.
