Job description

Minnetonka Community Education is hiring Building Supervisors for the 2026-2027 school year to support after-school operations at Groveland, Clear Springs, Scenic Heights, Deephaven, Excelsior, and Minnewashta Elementary Schools. The Building Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a secure, welcoming, and well-organized environment for students, families, instructors, and community members, ensuring safe and secure visitor entry from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM when Explorers childcare, recreation, and enrichment programs are in session. This is a part-time position running August 24, 2026 through June 8, 2027, with potential for Summer Explorers placement. 

Your Role Will Include:

  • Monitor and manage visitor access through one secured entrance.
  • Greet visitors, provide directions, and ensure they arrive at the correct location.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure appropriate use of school spaces.
  • Respond to emergencies (weather, fire, intruder, etc.) and communicate with building leadership as required.
  • Unlock and lock rooms used for Community Education programming.
  • Provide basic technology assistance to instructors as needed.
  • Assist instructors with class lists, materials, and handouts.
  • Visually inspect program areas before and after use to ensure readiness and organization.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of field trip paperwork.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, administrators, and the public.
  • Support activity preparation and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background study and fingerprinting.
  • Completion of required Explorers trainings, including Health & Safety, CPR, Child Development, and Mandated Reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing demeanor with strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting pay $20.28 per hour.
  • Not medical or dental benefit eligible.

Location & Shift Times:

  • One opening each at Groveland, Clear Springs, Scenic Heights, Deephaven, Excelsior, and Minnewashta Elementary Schools.
  • School days, from the end of the school day until 6:00 PM.
  • Part-time, August 24, 2026 through June 8, 2027.
  • Potential for Summer Explorers placement.
