Job description

Sales Marketing And Distribution Team Opportunity

Gildan is a leading manufacturer of everyday basic apparel, with a strong portfolio of brands. Together with our global team of dedicated employees, Gildan is united in its vision of Making Apparel Better.

The Opportunity
  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the work queue, allocating orders, writing SCNs, researching shorts, generating systemic picks, report research, providing information to 589 and/or reach operators, and maintaining excel spreadsheets. Handles cartons in accordance with business needs by performing pallet picks, case picks, pallet building and putting cases on the conveyor.
  • Efficiently uses WMS, powered equipment (589 transloader, reach, walkie rider, slip, and clamp), and RF equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge base regarding the operational aspects of the DC flow and home department.
  • Interacts with team leader and supervisor on a regular basis; takes direction (RF and verbally) to conduct all aspects of the DC operation while working with little to no direct supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
  • This opportunity is based in our Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.

The Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 6 Months to 1 Year related experience
  • Work requires frequent light physical effort (several times a day) OR occasional moderate physical effort (several times a week).
  • Significant exposure to one disagreeable condition OR occasional exposure to several disagreeable conditions/one very disagreeable condition.
  • Little or no exposure to hazards; very limited risk of injury or health problems.
  • Proficient knowledge of WMS (or similar WMS), RF Equipment, warehouse product flow, and above average communication skills (phone, radio, and email) required.
  • Above average clerical skill required including proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Prior warehouse experience preferred
  • Basic Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred.
  • Prior experience operating Radio Frequency (RF) equipment, i.e., scanners, etc.
  • Must be able to work from heights up to 80 feet and drive a 589 (Only applicable to Storage department)
  • Good verbal and written communication required
  • Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to lift, stack, and/or sort boxes up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of focus to promote a safe work environment and prevent injury to others
  • Must be able to work in a team-based environment
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English language effectively
  • Hearing is required in order to operate a RF keyboard and/or scanner; and to complete required data entry.
  • Vision is required in order to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate metrics.
