Job description

Job Objective:
The operator monitors, maintains and controls all steps of oil and gas production at GPMA , including but not limited to well head monitoring, operating test separators and preparing equipment for maintenance.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspect equipment for safety problems, leaks, or wear and tear, and make or recommend appropriate repairs.
  • Good working knowledge of process equipment including test separators, well heads and pumps.
  • Able to do light maintenance work; operate manual valves and perform general equipment upkeep as needed.
  • Good working knowledge of computer programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and HMI process control.
  • Reviews and monitors prior shift, to check for accuracy, daily computer log and scan process board.
  • Gauges and records daily tank inventory and chemical volumes.
  • Monitors, maintains and records process readings.
  • Able to work alone; acknowledging, responding to, and initiating corrections/actions to process alarms.
  • Monitors and maintains all control loops in the area.
  • Perform all required regulatory testing and monitoring of producing / injection wells.
  • Drain or recover fluids from containments to prevent spills.
  • Conducts and/or coordinates ongoing maintenance and general housekeeping of the plant.
  • Procures necessary materials and supplies to complete daily tasks.
  • Reads automatic gauges, at specified intervals to ensure process efficiency.
  • Monitors and maintains logs of meter readings, test results, and adjustments made.
  • Adheres to the company's values - integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
  • Supports company vision and mission.
  • Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.

Other Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to be available 24 hours per day while on the Slope. (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • Writes and communicates complete handover notes to ensure proper turnover to alternate.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
  • Other duties assigned by Ops Lead.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a processing plant or Drill site.
  • Solid foundation of mechanical skills.
  • Ability to accurately troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Ability to work long hours in order to cover/monitor assigned field territory.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
  • Ability to work in Arctic conditions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing workforce.
  • Ability to work 14/14, 12hr/day schedule.
  • Experience on the North Slope Preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skills to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
