ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Deliver and adjust daily lesson plans to meet curriculum goals.
  • Track attendance; report two consecutive absences and submit weekly reports.
  • Maintain student success rates at 80% or higher; intervene with at-risk students.
  • Record and submit final grades per policy.
  • Assess student performance and adapt instruction to individual needs.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, field trips, and clinic visits.
  • Conduct lectures and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Advise students on program curriculum and academic progress.
  • Alert leadership if a student's grade drops below 77%.
  • Enforce safety and classroom protocols.
  • May assist with externship coordination.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree (or equivalent military training) in surgical technology.
  • A minimum of four (4) years* of job-related training and experience for
    those instructors who are not graduates from an accredited program in
    the field in which they teach (must have an associate degree).
  • 3 years of OR scrub-role experience within the last 5 years OR 3 years of ST teaching experience.
  • Active CST credential (NCCA-accredited).
  • Current NBSTSA certification or state-required credential.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
