Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Safety Consultant – Construction to support large-scale construction projects by ensuring compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices. This role partners closely with business leaders, project teams, contractors, and field personnel to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in workplace health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Program Management
• Interpret and implement OSHA regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain construction safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, observations, and risk assessments.
• Analyze contractor safety performance metrics and recommend corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and industry best practices.
• Review accident investigations and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Track and report leading and lagging safety indicators.
Training & Development
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, supervisors, and management.
• Facilitate safety meetings, committee discussions, and toolbox talks.
• Provide guidance on safety equipment selection and usage.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build strong working relationships with project teams, contractors, union representatives, and business leaders.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on construction safety matters.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies, consultants, and vendors as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Associate Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education, certifications, and construction safety experience will be considered.
• 3-5+ years of construction safety experience supporting large-scale construction projects.
• Experience with OSHA compliance, contractor oversight, incident investigations, and safety program implementation.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications
• Utility, energy, or infrastructure project experience.
• OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, ASP, or related safety certifications.
• Experience working with union environments and contractor management.
