About the Opportunity

Heartland Consulting is seeking a Business and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Support Specialist to provide direct business, financial, and contracting support to the U.S. Coast Guard Contracting Officer's Representative and program leadership.

This full-time role is essential for ensuring effective contract administration, financial oversight, and compliance across a major shipbuilding acquisition program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and business/contracting functions.
  • Assist with contract administration, invoice review, financial tracking, and responding to data calls.
  • Maintain financial spreadsheets, obligation trackers, burn-rate reports, and other program reporting tools.
  • Support procurement actions, contract modifications, funding documents, and compliance reporting.
  • Serve as the primary interface for administrative and contractual matters between the program office, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in federal contracting, business/financial management, or COR support.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, and DHS/USCG acquisition processes.
  • Proficiency in financial tracking, advanced Excel, and government financial or contracting systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Active Secret security clearance is explicitly required due to access to financial and sensitive contract data.
What We're Looking For

We're looking for a highly organized, analytical professional with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. Prior experience supporting DoD or U.S. Coast Guard contracting activities is highly preferred.
