Job description

The Equipment Operator will operate heavy machinery for construction, demolition, and/or excavation projects. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our construction sites located in our Southeast Region, in/near Raleigh, North Carolina.

Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Identify and promptly address construction hazards, adhering to all safe operating practices to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
  • Proficiently operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to: dozers, excavators, rollers, loaders, CTLs, skid steer, scrapers, and haul trucks.
  • Safely control traffic near, in, or around work zones to safeguard workers and the public.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to identify and address unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Exhibit a high level of dependability, ensuring consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, working steadily to produce quality results.
  • Ability to adapt to flexible work schedule, including overtime and weekend work as needed.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions doing strenuous physical activity.

Education & Experience

  • At least one year of construction experience preferred.

The employee may be exposed to concrete dusty inclement weather conditions, extreme heat, noise, vibrations, and a variety of petroleum products.
