Schreiber Excavating, LLC, a leader in sitework and civil construction, is seeking a driven full-time Senior Excavation Technician to join our team in Ontario, NY. WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?
As a Senior Excavation Technician, you will lead by example on the job site. Each day, you will install underground utilities such as storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and related infrastructure. You will perform excavation, trenching, earthmoving, and mass grading operations, and you will grade and install stone subbase for roads, parking lots, curbs, sidewalks, and foundations. You will operate a variety of heavy equipment, set up and use construction lasers and GPS grade control systems, and ensure all work meets production and quality standards. You will read and interpret construction plans, maintain organized jobsites and equipment, and assist project leaders with planning and coordination. Throughout every task, you will uphold strict safety standards and help drive the success of each project through your technical expertise and leadership.

WHAT'S NEEDED FROM A SENIOR EXCAVATION TECHNICIAN?
Schedule: Your schedule will typically run between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm, with 50 - 55 hours per week depending on project needs. Flexibility is key, as start and end times may vary based on the day and site requirements.
Senior Excavation Technician Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license
  • 5+ years of sitework, excavation, or civil construction experience (10+ years preferred)
  • Strong experience in underground utilities, grading, and heavy civil construction
  • Heavy equipment operating experience (excavator, dozer, loader, skid steer)
  • Experience using construction lasers and pipe lasers (GPS experience preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and scopes of work
  • Ability to perform physically demanding field work
