DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position focuses on maintaining safety, monitoring behavior, and supporting daily operations within the Pittsburgh Community Corrections Center. You will play an essential role in ensuring a secure and orderly environment for reentrants and visitors. As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will perform the following duties: Safety Oversight: Ensure security of the center through observation, searches, and activity logging Behavior Monitoring: Observe reentrants individually and in groups to identify concerns and maintain order Record Keeping: Maintain logs, inventories, and registers for daily activities, medications, and equipment Orientation Support: Explain rules, assign rooms, and provide new reentrants with information and expectations Testing and Reporting: Administer breathalyzer or urinalysis tests and document concerns or misconducts Community Coordination: Provide information to visitors, assist law enforcement, and respond to public concerns Interested in learning more.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Community Corrections Centers are staffed by 3 work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,999.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements: You must successfully complete classroom training at the DOC Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. You must be willing and able to work in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.

You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience) One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals.

(Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military) Legal Requirement: You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
