Job description

Development Review Technician I =18N --- Development Review Technician II = 19N --- Development Review Technician III = 20N--- Reviews, verifies, approves, and processes building permit applications, as well as issuing permits in accordance with established procedures. It is also responsible for interpreting and assisting in the administration of the County's zoning ordinance, Land Development Regulations, and related codes. Key duties include compiling and verifying legal documents, reading and interpreting legal descriptions and zoning maps, maintaining records and reports, and preparing necessary documentation and recommendations. The role involves a variety of clerical tasks and exceptional customer service skills. Development Review Technicians operate under direct supervision, reporting to the Development Review Supervisor
This position shall be required to assist with emergency support functions in the event of a declared emergency and/or any other emergency duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Position requires a Florida Driver's License.
***Development Review Technician I( Pay grade 18N): Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Requires a high school diploma or GED with two (2) years of related customer related experience. Must possess or be able to obtain Notary Public certification.***
***Development Review Technician II (Pay grade 19N): Meeting Development Review Technician I requirements and a minimum of 18 months' experience as a Development Review Technician I, or equivalent role, and obtaining an ICC Permit Technician certification or ICC Zoning Inspector certification.***
***Development Review Technician III (Pay grade 20N): Meeting the Development Review Technician II requirements and one year of experience as a Development Review Technician II, or equivalent role, and to completing the ICC Code Specialist Exam.***
